Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth has finally talked about his beef with his colleague, AY Makun.
It could be recalled that while speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, AY revealed why his friendship with the comedian went sour.
He said;
“In 2006, Basketmouth usually had multiple wedding gigs on Saturdays’. So what he used to do at that point in time was to attend one, and at a point, leave the venue to catch up in the other venue.
“Now, one of the gigs that I got his endorsement to stand in at that time was N30,000 and 30,000 was everything to me at that time. Two weeks later, I haven’t seen 30k. and I was starving. I decided to ask for 30K, and he said this person hasn’t paid. It was very funny to discover that the full payment was made before the event.”
”One day, I met Basket in the club with a glass of drink, and I said to him, How far, my guy? This thing that happened in 2006 guy drop am. And my dear colleague looked at me eyeball to eyeball and said, I’m a beast. I don’t forgive.”
He also revealed that during Basketmouth’s wedding in 2006, he wasn’t permitted into the venue.
”When we arrived, my wife’s name was on the guest list, but my own was noticeably missing. I was looking at my wife, my wife was looking at me, and she said, let’s be going home since you are not qualified to enter.” He said.
Sharing his own side of the story during a podcast with the Honest Bunch crew,, Basketmouth revealed that he and AY have never been friends and had never had any close or personal relationship with him
According to him, he came in contact with the comic actor through comedy king, Ali Baba, and he had never mentored him before.
Basketmouth claimed something else, which he will not disclose, happened between him and AY Makun and no client was involved in their feud.
He went on to accuse AY of using lies about their feud to promote his upcoming show, stating that is his usual style.
“AY is not my friend, we have never been friends, I have never visited his house, and I have never personally invited him to my house…” He said in parts.
On his wedding saga, Basketmouth revealed that AY Makun was bounced at his wedding because he came uninvited.
