A woman identified as Busola Oyediran and her partner, Akebiara Emmanuel were on Friday, January 13, arrested by for allegedly battering her two children aged 5 and 2 at the Egbeda/Idimu area of the state.
It was gathered that concerned neighbours had alerted the police of the constant physical abuse of the minors by their biological mother and her partner.
Upon receiving the information, the police stormed the couple’s home in Egbeda/Idimu and arrested them.
The police later visited the hospital where the neighbours had taken the victims for treatment.
When interrogated, the woman, Bisola claimed that the children suffered serious injuries after they fell from a motorcycle.
Confirming the sad incident, the state police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin revealed that the couple is currently in detention.
According to him, the father of the children has been alerted and the suspects will be arraigned in court by Monday, January I6.
