Nigerian singer,Davido has been criticized for withdrawing his support for a physically challenged hawker who was later found to be a man.
Davido had initially offered to help the hawker after she went viral on social media.
Back then, he called on his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State to come to her aide,
However, he changed his mind after learning that she was not a woman.
The case has sparked a debate about gender identity and discrimination.
Some people have criticized Davido for his decision, arguing that he should have helped the physically challenged hawker regardless of his gender.
Others have defended Davido, saying that he was simply trying to avoid being scammed.
“Na man, does that change anything tho? He is from Osun, he is challenged and disabled, and he needs all the help he can get. He deserves a good life too! He needs help!! Unless you and your uncle are clout chasers!! The boy needs help!!”. A Twitter user wrote.
Replying him, Davido advised him to help the boy since his surname is also ‘Adeleke’.
“U get money na. Sir, ur last name nah Adeleke. Go help am”.
