An asthmatic patient has cried out over the hike in the price of drugs for patients like himself.
It was gathered that the cost of medicine for people with asthma has gone up a lot, making it hard for them to get the medicine they need.
One man with asthma said that a medicine he used to buy for N8000 now costs N52,500. That’s a big increase! And the inhaler he needs to help him breathe costs N8500 now, instead of N1500-N2000.
This is because the company that used to make these medicines in Nigeria is no longer doing so. Now, people have to buy the medicine from other countries, which costs more.
The Asthmatic patient is asking the government to help make sure that people with asthma can get the medicine they need at a price they can afford.
If the government doesn’t do something, many people with asthma will not be able to get the medicine they need. This could lead to serious health problems or even death.
