South African singer Tyla Seethal, known for her single “Water,” has placed Nigerian Afrobeats icon Wizkid alongside musical giants Michael Jackson, Drake, and Rihanna, elevating the Nigerian artist to an elite echelon of musical excellence.
The music diva was a guest on a TV show called the Bianca Show.
During the show, the host asked Tyla to name her top five favorite singers of all time. The singer, named Michael Jackson, Drake, and Rihanna as her first three choices.
Tyla then said that her fourth choice was Wizkid. The host was surprised because he is a Nigerian singer and not as well-known as the other three singers.
Tyla explained that she chose Big Wiz because she thinks he is a very talented singer who has made a lot of great music.
According to her, Wizkid has helped to make African music more popular around the world and this shows that Wizkid is a very important and respected singer.
She said;
“My top five musical artists of all-time, obviously, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Drake… It is always difficult to find the last one. There’s so many but I will say Wizkid. He has been around so long and has done so much for the culture and the genre[African music], so I definitely put him there.”
