Invictus Obi, a convicted Nigerian online fraudster, will be released in 2028, according to the US Federal Bureau of Prisons.A Nigerian criminal is incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Oakdale after being sentenced for his role in a computer-based infiltration fraud scheme that cost his victims approximately $11 million.
Mr Okeke will be released in 2028, according to a statement on the US Federal Bureau of Prisons’ website.
Okeke initially rejected the charges against him until he agreed to a plea deal with US officials before sentencing. On June 18, 2020, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
His plea agreement allowed him to have the second charge of conspiracy to conduct computer fraud dropped, which carries a lighter term and fines.
Mr Okeke is being kept in prison exclusively for male convicts. Oakdale Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) is a low-security federal prison with a nearby minimum-security satellite camp. The FCI has 997 detainees, while the camp has 86.
