After refusing to join a cult, a student at Osun State University was allegedly shot and set on fire.

Osun State University senior in political science Victor Oke was allegedly shot, stabbed with matchets, and set on fire by suspected cult members for refusing to join a fraternity.

The University’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Monday, December 13.

“We discovered Victor’s final paper was missing in the afternoon and contacted his parents.” It was later discovered that unknown cultists attacked him early on Saturday.

Victor was screaming that he would not join their cult as they beat him with cutlasses and stones and attempted to set him on fire, which they partially accomplished before he was rescued.

University security personnel collaborate with law enforcement to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and prosecuted. “The cults must be apprehended,” he stated.
