Laolu Martins, the co-founder and executive director of Popular restaurant, Bukka Hut, is dead.
According to reports, the investment banking expert committed suicide in the early hours of Tuesday, 3 am precise, in his home in lagos, after battling with depression for a long time.
His death comes after his partner and Co-Founder of Bukka Hut, Rasheed Jayeola, opened their 15th outlet in the Ikorodu part of the State.
Note that Laolu Martins started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1999.
The businessman is a Chartered stockbroker and a Chartered Accountant. He had 12 years of experience in investment banking, corporate banking, stockbroking, asset management and pension fund management.
Laolu Martins joined Investment Banking & Trust Company Plc now Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc where he served in the Financial Control and Trade Finance/Foreign Operations units of the Bank.
He later seconded to Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Ltd where at various times he was Financial Controller, Head Asset Management and lastly Head Stockbroking.
After resigning in 2005, he joined Shell Nig. CPFA Ltd, the Fund Manager of the Shell Companies in Nigeria Pensions Scheme where he was Head, Investments.
Martins then reasigned in 2008 and joined the Nigeria International Security Limited, NISL. NISL is an independent financial services firm specialising in investments within the Nigerian space.
His restaurant, Bukka Hut offers all typed of delicious homemade meals.
