On Tuesday, a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ court in Lagos granted N1 million bail to five Dowen College students accused of murdering a 12-year-old classmate.
Following the hearing of the defendants’ bail application, Chief Magistrate Olatunbosun Adeola ordered the defendants to produce two sureties in the same amount.
According to Adeola, one of the defendants’ guarantors must be a parent who swears a compliance affidavit.
She added that all defendants must present their international passports to the court, that the prosecutor must verify their domicile, and that they must always remain within two kilometres of their residence.

According to NAN, the defendants were remanded to juvenile home on December 9 for the alleged bullying-related death of a classmate.
