The Ebonyi state police, on Saturday, September 17, shot teargas at Supporters of Peter Obi, Labour Party’s presidential candidate, who embarked on a rally.

In an effort to stop them from going to the streets, the Ebonyi state police shot teargas at Peter Obi Supporters. Even when the groups retreated into the Church, the police continued to release more teargasses into the Church.

Speaking about the incident with Channel TV, a man named Nwali Ikechukwu revealed that some persons were injured after security operatives stormed the take-off point with teargas.

However, this didn’t stop them from achieving the aim of the gathering as more and more youths still came out for the rally.

Meanwhile, the Ebonyi state police command is yet to react to the incident.
